Zygomatic implants offer a solution for patients with severe bone loss in the upper jaw. These implants anchor into the cheekbone, providing support where traditional implants cannot. If you consider this advanced dental procedure, understanding how to get a quote for zygomatic implants is essential because even in zygomatic implants, there are different comapnies offering different types of zygomatic implants and also based on the number of zygomatic implants placed it can vary widely, that is a single zygoma for a single side or double zygomas for a single side (right or left side depending upon the bony defect) or double zygomas on both the sides, often called as quad zygoma technique.
This guide explains the process, the factors that affect cost, and what to expect when seeking treatment.
its also important for you as a patient to know about the cost difference that araises due to the anaesthesia techniques, that is the cost is more for general Anesthesia i.e zygomatic implant surgery under G.A, and the cost is some what lower for zygomatic implant surgery under local anesthesia and the cost is somewhere in the middle for zygomatic implant surgery under concious sedation under anesthetist supervision.
Moreover, with the advent of guided implant surgery, the cost of zygomatic implants varies. For a guided implant surgery using metal surgical guides, the cost is typically more than a freehand surgery.
And the cost also varies as per the patient's selection of either a computer-assisted static navigation system or a computer-assisted dynamic navigation system.
Understanding Zygomatic Implant Cost
Zygomatic implant cost varies widely depending on several factors. These include the complexity of the case, the surgeon’s expertise, the technology used, and the location of the dental center. Unlike standard implants, zygomatic implants require specialized skills and equipment, which can increase the price.
The cost typically covers:
Initial consultation and imaging
Zygomatic implant surgery under general anesthesia usually costs more because it involves a hospital setup, anesthesiologist support, and greater perioperative resources.
Zygomatic implant surgery under local anesthesia is generally more economical in selected cases.
Zygomatic implant surgery under conscious sedation, performed under an anesthetist's supervision, often falls somewhere in between in terms of cost.
the number of zygomatic implants required,
the pattern of bone loss,
The implant brand or system used, Adin and Noris (Israel systems), is cheaper than Noble Bio Care or Straumann implant systems.
whether the case is done freehand or guided, and
whether the computer-guided static or dynamic navigation is used.
Follow-up care and adjustments
In some cases, additional procedures like bone grafting or sinus lifts may be necessary, or if you want to avoid these failures related to bone grafts and sinus lifts, you need (sometimes) pterygoid implants along with the zygomatic implants. adding to the overall expense. It is important to obtain a detailed cost breakdown before proceeding.
How to Get a Quote for Zygomatic Implants
So I will practically give you three examples of real patients by showing their X-rays,so that you will be devoid of all the confusion.
Example 1:

In this case, I have placed 2 zygoma implants on either side and 3 implants into the nasal floor, and no pterygoid implants as such. Because the anterior jawbone quality is very good, and only the posterior jawbone is completely gone.
Example 2

Here you can see that I have placed 2 zygoma implants on either side, 2 pterygoid implants on either side, and 4 implants into the nasal floor. Because of extreme osteoporosis, this treatment plan is preferred. The cost for this procedure is somewhere in the middle.
Example 3

Here, in this case of severe bone resorbtion and extremely osteoporotic jaw bone, I preferred a double zygoma on the left side and a single zygoma and pterygoid on the right side, and one implant into the nasal floor and one implant into the nasopalatine canal.
After seeing these 3 X-rays, you can see 3 kinds of rehabilitations using zygomatic implants and other implants as an adjunct.... So,as per the patient's condition, even in resorbed cases,we change the plan for severely resorbed cases, more so,to suit the patient's condition, and so the price varies accordingly.
To be specific, we charged an amount of 2.2 lakh rupees, and for example 2, we have charged 2.95 lakh rupees, and for example 3, we have charged 3.3 lakh rupees, so all three are broadly called zygomatic implant rehabilitations, and all three cases were rejected elsewhere for lack of bone, and all the 3 were challenging cases in themselves.
Broadly, you can say that the price may vary from about 2.5 lakh rupees per jaw to 3.5 lakh rupees per jaw (upper jaw)
